Laurina Pointed:
a natural mutant of the Bourbon, born in 1860 on the island of Bourbon, now Réunion. There are two types of Laurina: Laurina Pointu (also known as Bourbon Pointu), whose tree resembles a small Christmas tree and whose beans are pointed on one side, and Laurina Ovale, whose tree has very long branches and whose beans are oval in shape. Laurina Pointed has short branches, narrow leaves, a narrow, pointed bean shape on one side and a caffeine content of just 0.5%. Cherries ripen earlier than other varieties.
Notes : Taste profile dominated by caramel, vanilla and light herbal notes. Lively citric acidity, medium body. Overall delicate taste profile.
