Blending is often referred to as an art form. The blends in this sampler represent the most popular products. All have great flavor and aromas, all are easy drinking, some have long finishes and some have a little bite, but they are all crowd pleasers and very representative of the kind of blending we offer. Enjoy!
Plateau : This blend gives our customers a bridge blend between very mild brown roasts and the standard 50/50 brown/ black blend. This mix is both strong and well balanced. Made with our brown and dark house blends, the dark roast tends to cover up the dry acrid taste of the brown so that all we taste are the beautiful aromas in the coffee. A true crowd-pleaser, this is a perfect coffee for parties or gets together s when you aren’t sure what coffee is needed.
Howard’s # 2 : Since I’m always trying new blends, for me, Howard 1 was great, but I wanted a blend that was bolder but not bitter in any way… So I kept blending…. Howard # 2….. What can I say, its what coffee should taste like as far as my pallet goes: Rich, very aromatic, long in the mouth, smooth yet powerful…….
Randonnée : no 1/2 & 1/2 here… This coffee is made up of 75 % brown/American roast and 25 % black/french roast, using our house blend Des Monts Brun and Foret Noire. The coffee presents medium strong with a hint of smokiness yet no bitterness..
Promenade : When we opened in 1995, many customers were asking for 1/2 & 1/2 , brownamerican & black/ french roast. We thought that was boring so we made this blend which is 75% black/french roast and 25 % brown /American roast, using our house blends Foret Noire & Des Monts brun . This coffee presents with tangy smoky flavors but the Des Monts brun roast just takes the edge off; a nice strong full bodied coffee, no bitterness….
Diamant : This blend was created to be a little stronger than the Couloir blend, so starting from scratch, we went African and Indonesian only, 45 % black and 55 % brown roast. The blend is amazing; Strong, full bodied, tons of flavor, and a long finish. The African coffee is the key here and the Indonesian coffee cuts the acidity making it a smoother drinking blend. For those looking for strength, balance and flavor..
Slalom : We created this blend to appease the person looking for a strong coffee with a little more aroma /flavor than the standard french roast. This is a 60 % black/french roast mixed with 40 % dark/ Italian roast. Both central & south American coffee as well as African coffees make up this fine coffee. It presents with smoky, spicy aromas, lots of body, a smooth acidity and a long smoky finish. Here is a blend that gives strength, not bitterness…
